Day 2 of Google I/O has started off with an awful lot of love for Apple.

After taking Chrome for Android out of beta yesterday with the launch of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, Google this morning announced that Chrome is also coming to iOS. The iPhone and iPad version of Chrome will sync with your Google account to ensure that all of your tabs, bookmarks, and other information follows you across platforms. Chrome for iPhone features a similar UI to the Android version, while Chrome for iPad looks almost exactly like the desktop browser. Chrome for iOS will be available on the App Store today.

It seems the Google Drive app for iOS is also ready, as it will be launching on the App Store today as well. Google also introduced offline editing for Google Docs, allowing you to access Drive stored documents and edit them anywhere, anytime. Changes are cached locally when offline, and documents are updated when an internet connection is reestablished. Offline editing is available for all Drive users – surprise, surprise – today.
